This week there are a few gems in the realm of worthwhile artistic events, and below are my picks so you don't have to waste your valuable time with the hyped up crap (the good kind) you still have plenty of time to see.

Remember all that noise about "Free Pussy Riot"you vaguely remember from 2012? Well, Pussy Riot is a band. They're not the greatest band of musical artists, so if you still want some punk rock pit action, check out The Queers, The Dickies, and The Cocks---unless of course you happen to be a huge John Waters fanatic like myself. Are you?
Well, if the words "SEX CELLS Divine Ball" didn't already sound filthily fabulous, the event is presented by Los Angeles based art gallery Lethal Amounts, infamous for highlighting influential counter culture ideas and taboos over history, including rock 'n' roll. There's more. Dress to impress and disgust, as Divine would do both, for your shot at the Divine look-a-like contest featuring a $500 grand prize. Wait, there is still more. This contest will be judged by none other than John Waters film famed Divine co-stars Mink Stole and Traci Lords, not to mention more punk rock art to be found tonight here with third judge Linda Ramone. Need I say more why this is my top pick? Oh, and Pussy Riot is playing March 31 to April 2 at The Echo, so you've got plenty of plan flexibility.

"Tattoo: An Exhibition"
Daily until April 15
The Natural History Museum
This is another touring exhibit first seen in 2014 at the Musee du quai Branly-Jacques Chirac in Paris. Tattoo: An Exhibition displays the history of body ink going back 5,000 years. The LA showing includes a look at California's own tattoo history and even a recreated version of the oldest continuously run tattoo parlor in America, Bert Grimm's World Famous Tattoo.
